Carbon Reduction Plan

Scribetech is fully committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040 in line with our sustainability goals and in compliance with the UK Government’s standards outlined in PPN 06/21. We are dedicated to taking action today to reduce our carbon footprint and align with the global push for a sustainable future.

2    Current Carbon Footprint

We have calculated our current carbon emissions for the baseline year 2023, and our carbon footprint is as follows:

• Scope 1 emissions (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources): 0 metric tonnes CO₂e
• Scope 2 emissions (indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, and cooling): 0 metric tonnes CO₂e
• Scope 3 emissions (other indirect emissions): 64.8 metric tonnes CO₂e

Since our business operates remotely and we do not own company vehicles, we have no direct emissions under Scope 1 and 2. Our carbon footprint is predominantly influenced by Scope 3 emissions, including business travel, employee commuting, and purchased goods and services.

A significant portion of these emissions are from our cloud service providers associated with data storage and processing.

3    Baseline Year and Targets

We have set our baseline year as 2023 and aim to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 15% by 2025, 40% by 2030, and achieve Net Zero by 2040.

4    Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We have implemented the following carbon reduction initiatives to meet our targets:

• Remote working: As a fully remote business, we have minimized our reliance on office spaces and commuting, reducing overall energy consumption and travel emissions.
• Business travel: We are committed to further reducing business travel emissions by prioritizing virtual meetings and, where travel is necessary, using sustainable transport options.
• Supply chain engagement: We are working closely with our suppliers to reduce emissions associated with the production and delivery of goods and services we procure.
• Cloud provider emissions reduction: Recognizing that a significant portion of our Scope 3 emissions comes from cloud services, we are leveraging the carbon reduction tools provided by our cloud providers to monitor and reduce these emissions. This includes optimizing data usage and storage and collaborating with providers who are committed to using renewable energy.
• Annual emissions tracking using Trace: We use Trace to track and report our carbon emissions on an annual basis, ensuring transparency and accountability in our progress toward Net Zero.
• Employee engagement and workshops: In addition to encouraging sustainable practices in home offices, we regularly hold sustainability workshops to engage employees and provide training on carbon reduction strategies

5    Governance and Approval

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Scribetech (UK) Ltd and the Managing Director, Mr Shiraz Austin. We are committed to transparency and accountability in our carbon reduction efforts.

6    Monitoring and Reporting

We will review and update this plan annually. Updates will include revised emissions data and progress toward our reduction targets. This Plan will be published on our website and made available upon request.
